Origination is the front half of the lending lifecycle. An application is submitted, the applicant is verified and screened, affordability is assessed, a decision is made and approved at the right level, a contract is signed, and funds are disbursed.
It is the part of lending where delay is most visible to the customer and most expensive to the lender, because an application that stalls is often an application that goes elsewhere.
